What is considered the source of damage for Elemental Drain?
The source of the damage is the adventurer, so ElusiveElusiveThis unit prevents all damage (including true damage) dealt by units that were not adjacent to it at the start of the current turn. cannot be bypassed. The difference between Elemental Drain and BaneBaneThis unit is dealt 1 true damage at the start of each of its turns. is in the wording. Elemental Drain says "deal that new enemy 2 true damage," as in you deal the damage. And the source of this die can be easily tracked, it's owned by a specific adventurer who is dealing the damage. Bane says "This unit is dealt 1 true damage," so the source of the damage is not the adventurer, and you don't track the source of these general status effect dice as there's no reason to.

Can Elemental Rage damage an Elusive enemy even if I did not start my turn adjacent to them?
The wording of Elemental Rage is "Choose a cache in range, and deal a total of X damage distributed as you choose among units within 2 hexes of that cache." Your unit is still the one dealing the damage, so Elusive cannot be gotten around with this particular skill.
